Le Mont Saint-Michel

Touristic site

Second most visited site in France

Classified as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, since October 2016, Mont-Saint-Michel has once again become an island of almost a kilometer in circumference attached to the coast by an unsinkable, light and transparent footbridge.
It is the second most visited site in France. On the highest point of this islet at an altitude of 80 meters, the abbey was built from the 11th to the 16th century by Benedictine monks.
On its sides hangs the medieval city with its very well preserved 15th and 16th century houses.
Walk through its narrow streets lined with shops and restaurants with the famous house “La Mère Poulard”.
By visiting the abbey, the ramparts and the ramparts you will have a breathtaking panorama of the bay of Mont-Saint-Michel.

A magnificent maritime landscape, tides holding the French record with 14 m amplitude, a patchwork of polders, mussel farming alignments,. This succession of sand, spongy beaches, grass where sheep graze, provides pleasant walks.
